Scott invites his best friend and college roommate, Matt Collins, to come down to Lawrence from Iowa for the summer to drum with the band. Matt accepts, and enters game as 27th level Fighter. Matt brings a timbale with him --- band goes back three spaces.

Matt cracks up --- loses turn, mind, and other players' confidence --- all other players lose sleep. Matt loses two charisma points per turn. In only three weeks, band writes and records ten songs, partially to expedite Matthew's departure. These songs are recorded by the incredibly charming and intermittently crack-free J.P. Jackson (not his real name) at his fledgeling studio. One song appears on a compilation as the first nationally distributed Kill Creek song --- players move ahead five spaces.

Scott, Matt, and Matt's Timbali return to Iowa --- Ron and Pat move ahead four spaces. J.P. returns to the pipe --- must pay $20 per spin.

All of Scott's belongings ravaged by suspicious flood. Ron and Pat's musical equipment ravaged by suspicious fire. Players lose irreplacable personal items, faith in the natural world, and one turn each.
